The Two Dimensional Field: Forces Within the Screen

When looking and analyzing pictures there are 6 major types of field forces that the artist had in mind when taking the picture and something that is interesting to have in mind when looking at photographs. To find examples from real life I went to my favorite Instagram page and looked at some of the pictures keeping these field forces in mind.

Going into advertising after I graduate has always been an options I have kept open. The advertising industry intrigues me quite a bit. I high school one of my favorite class if not my favorite class was psychology. I decided that psychology specifically was not what I really wasn’t to concentrate my studies on in college but I still think that it is very relevant when discussing most other fields of study, for example, advertising. The company/people constructing the ad have to get into the heads of the consumers and figure out what will have the most impact on the general population. In this chapter article it elaborates on this ins and out of advertising and ways that advertising seeks to interpellate viewer-consumers in constructing them with in the “you of that ad.”

Non-fiction as literature

This chapter emphasizes the fact that writing is in fact hard and encourages people to write whether it be non-fiction or fiction. It also states that although it is thought that fiction would be much easier to read, it is easier for younger people to start of with fiction because it is easier to grasp and idea and write about it if it is something that you can or have experience(d), something you can observe or something that you can research and find out about. People are far more willing to write about their own lives or something that they have aptitude for. It further emphasizes that non-fiction is just as legitimate as fiction writing and if non-fiction writing is what you are most comfortable with than go for it! “Don’t be buffaloes into the idea that it’s an inferior species.”

My name is Ally Karasik and I am a California girl going to school in South Carolina. I am a Communications and Spanish double major at Furman University and plan on entering the film industry or trying my hand at sports journalism after I graduate. Currently I am taking a digital communications class and I hope that it lays the groundwork for whatever career path I may choose in the future. I hope that I can master blogging, and be great at whatever I try and accomplish on a computer. Not knowing how certain aspects of computers work gets extremely frustrating and in this day and age it seems that if you are bad with technology it is hard to succeed.
